It was an absolute treat to welcome 120 people from the local community and further afield, joined by many members of the farming community as we gathered in thanking them for everything they do. No celebration would be complete without tractor and sheep!

If you look carefully, in the middle of this gorgeous scene, is Christ the Consoler. An island in the wide landscape of life. Join us tomorrow 6pm (Wednesday 18th September) for a simple and soothing service of Compline. No ticket and no previous experience required. Christ the Consoler Newby Hall.

Come and visit the beautiful Christ the Consoler Newby Hall in North Yorkshire. Open daily, free entry. William Burges designed and built as a memorial for a son killed in Greece in 1870. A superb Grade I listed Thomas C Lewis organ too. Stained glass is some of the finest Victorian glass.
