I've noticed more and more small businesses in my area are charging an additional 3-4% to cover credit card fees. How exactly are they reporting this when it comes tax time? I know those fees are 100% tax deductible normally. Are they recouping the fees AND getting the tax deduction?

Today is Ridley's 9th adoption day. We don't know his birthday, so we celebrate that today, as well. He was supposedly around 5 years old when we adopted him, which makes him around 14 now.

Just a reminder, many people who receive SNAP also have pets and often have to decide between caring for their pets and putting food on the table for their families. Many shelters have programs to help people be able to keep their pets in difficult times instead of surrendering them to the shelter.

My unsubsidized ACA plan is going up 50%, from approximately $1200 to $1800. Estimated out of pocket, including premiums, is $36k for the year. Insanity.

We had an appointment down on the Seacoast today and stopped at one of those chain steakhouses on the way home. I had a filet and I thought there should be a sauce and add-on selection for steaks. A nice peppercorn sauce or red wine reduction would have been nice. Sauteed shrooms/onions, too.

The birds all disappeared for about a month but they're back and I'm excited. A blue jay visited the feeder today.

I literally had no plans to attend a protest this Saturday but the Republicans are making it out to me so fun and sexy that I'm going to attend the one in Portsmouth.
