Real story: President Trump posted online that the Digital Equity Act is "racist" & he would simply ignore the law. Now, millions of dollars for broadband in rural communities have gone away because of it.

Thanks to @markey.senate.gov‬, @cantwell.senate.gov, Marsha Blackburn, & Susan Collins for stripping the AI moratorium from Senate budget bill. This text would have hamstrung state efforts to protect consumers from things like deepfakes & robocalls for 5 years. This cut was the right thing to do.

This is where prison phone stuff is covered. Serious work here thanks to Congress passing legislation in 2021. Also work on national suicide prevention hotline. Again, lots of technical stuff to help people connect and stay connected. Again, this is not stuff that just “happens” without #FCC regs

Seriously??? My tax dollars are paying for libraries to buy & own books in my community. Now they can't lend them to me electronically without paying a subscription too? Even though the library owns it & the author got paid?
