I test accessibility by switching websites to a language I don’t know. It forces me to rely on layout, structure, and visual cues. If I can still navigate, it’s a good sign of intuitive design plus, I’m learning some French!

Flip your mouse upside down & use your non-dominant hand. It forces imprecision and quickly reveals targets that are too small, too close, or only usable under perfect conditions.

Accessible design shouldn’t rely on pixel-perfect aim.

Ever tested drag-and-drop or target sizes on a wet phone? ☔️
In the real world it’s:

Commuter travelling in the rain
Parent juggling a toddler
Worker in gloves

That “big enough” button? Suddenly not.
Accessibility means designing for the messy, unpredictable moments.

Accessibility is rewarding but draining. Burnout is real. The golden rule? Look out for your fellow advocates: notice dips, share the load, celebrate wins. Accessibility is a long game we can’t carry it alone. #Accessibility #Inclusion #Wellbeing

If I could give my younger self 3 tips on starting in accessibility:

1. Momentum over perfection, small wins matter.

2. Your voice can often help more than any tool.

3. Keep experimenting, playful tests reveal big insights.

What advice would you give your younger self? #Accessibility #UX

I’ve hacked my Stream Deck into an accessibility audit control panel From instant WCAG links to JS bookmarklets, NVDA launch, hex pickers + modal escapes no more tool-hopping or hand yoga. Total game changer. Anyone else doing this? 👀 #Accessibility #DevTools

When I test with a screen reader, I cover my screen with a towel before loading. Why? Because seeing the layout first gives clues about structure and hierarchy that can bias testing. Listening without visuals shows how well the content stands on its own.

A little reminder about a tool I created a few years back that I still use frequently: The HTML De-Crapulator https://buff.ly/4gqxeUq Its purpose is simple: remove all the 'noise' that modern web dev tools add to markup so that you can understand the underlying structure.

Would love to see others home setups… here’s mine

My favourite part is the heated desk mat and pads and overhead light bar.

Truly inspiring!
An inspirational night at the #TechWomen100 Awards and a privilege to have had the opportunity to hit the stage to hand out the gongs! 🏆

Proud to have been a judge at these awards since the start—the legacy created by @vanessavallelyobe.bsky.social + @wearetechwomen.bsky.social is incredible 🚀

Would really like to be able to add my job role and company to my profile in a searchable field rather than just in the description.

> Job Role (Optional)
> Company (Optional)

@jay.bsky.team is this something that is on the roadmap?

So… Gotham is in need of help from Batman… but somebody moved the Bat-signal.

WCAG 2.2, 3.2.6 Consistent help.

Help mechanisms (including chat bots) should occur in the same order relative to other page content, unless a change is initiated by the user.

I wanted to share ‘Beta’ release of my QuizA11y ‘Accessibiliy Quiz App’. www.quiza11y.com

Still lots of work to do and it’s far from perfect. I created it to help me learn when more easily with an element of gamification.

Accessible headings matter! Use clear, descriptive text, ensure proper hierarchy (H1 > H2 > H3), and avoid skipping levels.

This helps everyone, including screen reader users, navigate with ease.

Check this out a Neurodivergent Communication Board at a park in the village of Skelmorlie UK.

It even has information about what is neurodiversity and why use boards.

Well done village of Skelmorlie 🙌

Love 💙 the fact that I can now just follow the hashtag #Accessibility in my feed! Much easier

Liking the platform so far @jay.bsky.team just need to double down on the other accessibility requirements.

Can we have auto captioning of audio and text resizing soon please?
