Strange Days (1995), dir. Kathryn Bigelow. I had no idea what I was getting into, and this movie completely blew me away. It's upsetting and prescient, brilliantly shot and edited, and the pairing of Angela Bassett and Ralph Fiennes is bizarre but works perfectly, etc 10/10

A Hill I Will Die On: Conrad Veidt in the 1930s and 1940s was performing grounded subtlety in film on a level that wouldn't be seen again until maybe the era of the Actors Studio.

All I wanted to do this afternoon was watch GDT's Frankenstein but Netflix has decided to glitch every time someone speaks, making the movie unwatchable, and now I don't know what to do with myself. -_-

Tori was one of my first points of contact within the world of immersive theater. Her performance work was such an important source of inspration at the very beginning of my own career in the arts. So what is up with the new Affinity for real? If it's free now when literally nothing else is free, what's the catch? Are there a buttload of ads? Is it feeding artists' and designers' work to AI? Because in my experience when something looks too good to be true it usually is.
Leave it to me to wait until now to finally buy Affinity only to find they've been scooped up by Canva and have taken down all their products smh

Now would be literally the worst time to try to apply to grad programs, but does there exist some degree somewhere that combines a MLIS with an archival focus with like... film theory? Is that a thing? Oh also it would have to all be online because I said so.
