Hi there!

My archive of Disneyland lighting fixture photos is far, far too large.

Well, I did it- summarize and narrate it all in under 20 minutes and managed to hit that target. My take, as an informed outside observer, on the enshittification of Disneyland - keep in mind I am not a video professional; I hope I did alright on the audio with my background. youtu.be/PiSeT4KEp_o

I don’t talk about that part specifically in this video about Disneyland but it’s another aspect of profit maximization- The Spreadsheet People Are Winning

Yesterday, for example, Disneyland was open during the bulk worst of the storm, but closed an hour early due to “inclement weather” during the calmest, least rainy part of the night. Why? Because attendance was empty as hell and they knew that would happen based on reservations.
One of my favorite Disneyland lies that they tell is “closing early due to inclement weather” - these days they can see when reservations are down and know that it’ll cost more to operate if they stay open later, so they close early due to inclement profits and blame the weather.

#MerryChristmas! Here is a rare clip of Walt Disney and Santa Claus celebrating Christmas at Disneyland in 1962. 🎄

Not a bad run this year considering how many malls and shops I’ve been to this season.

Plz Disneyland let us passholders in

And a little Small World Holiday from Disneyland to round things out

Apropos of the represented period of time, DCA often has a very noir feel in Hollywood Land.

What more could you ask for at Disneyland - 70th/Holiday decorated castle between Walt and Mickey.

I'll repost this in the spirit of the holiday. A little Disneyland Christmas magic.

Ugh I hate being blocked out. These are nice wait times overall for Disneyland.

Question is how is Disney going to make that lightning lane money without us passholders clogging the lines for them?

I don't know who needs to tell Disneyland this but if you have to put up a digital screen explaining to people how to use your digital screen 15 feet ahead, you have a very bad user experience and/or interface

Despite cages full of people something about the framing just makes it feel oddly liminal to me. Maybe it’s the fog? Pixar Pal-a-round, aka Mickey’s Death Wheel in DCA #DisSky

A lone Disneyland Railroad conductor. Or as alone as you can really get at a busy park.

Another artsy fartsy Disneyland photo- the sawmill in DCA which is actually very challenging to get a perfectly squared shot. I am off by a little bit on this one. I try all the time.

Another DCA shot, it was foggy and misty by Grizzly River Run and the opportunity presented itself for a perfectly framed lone figure disappearing into the fog. #DisSky

Another shot from DCA. I don’t know what inspired me here other than the lone gleaming Christmas lights. #Disneyland

Okay time to break out my weird shots from around Disneyland and DCA. I like these ones because they capture a weird sense of place with minimal humanity present if any at all. Like a weird cross of liminal and landscape or still life. I guess. Clarabelle’s ice cream shop:
