Well, I did it- summarize and narrate it all in under 20 minutes and managed to hit that target. My take, as an informed outside observer, on the enshittification of Disneyland - keep in mind I am not a video professional; I hope I did alright on the audio with my background. youtu.be/PiSeT4KEp_o

I mean, one thing Eisner did for Disneyland and Walt Disney World was truly make it about guest experience- and that's what made the parks successful, for all of Eisner's other gaffs. Focus on the guest experience, and the money will come not far behind. Focus on the money, the experience goes away.

Been several times, but the only time I ever felt like I was "lording over the plebes" was when we were invited to a dinner at 21 Royal.

Age verification? I have used one of those adapter boxes with the two 300 ohm twin lead antenna adapter connectors to get a Nintendo plugged into the black and white TV in my friend's bedroom before
Age Verification?

• I made a tape recording of TV show audio from my CRT TV
• I have a set of Golden Mickey ears from Disneyland's 50th anniversary
Age Verification? I've made mixtapes off the radio.

Accounting strikes again
They laid off a bunch of Food and Beverage people at the end of last year, so now Guests reap the fruit (or not).

I mean, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the Spreadsheet People trying to minmax everything. I hate that minmax is a lifestyle for some people.

Like, they're basically trying to see what they can cut back before it has impact.

I created a feed that I constantly curate and update to block shit, and stay as focused on Disneyland as I can. Great thing about Bluesky is all your content control options!

Is it just me or is Disneyland’s offerings for lunar new year and Valentine’s Day kinda weak? No big decorations in the Grand, no holiday treats bad in the lobby. The merch in DCA is meh, the food is so-so, not a bunch of specialty valentines treats. Honestly feels like they’re just phoning it in.

No. It was fun in the beginning. Then they really started to pack it in. It’s okay once in a great while. If I ever did a “Star Wars day” I would include it.

If you aren’t staying at one of the Disney hotels, choose something on Harbor Blvd near the park, for ease of entrance. It’s a one or two block walk to the park entrance from about 12-15 different hotels there. What type of hotel do you prefer and what’s your typical price range?

I’m 100% serious here and it was only pure circumstance that I was listening to the original tron soundtrack the morning after watching Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland and my brain made the immediate connection. Go listen for yourself youtu.be/Uz-XUKfDg2k?...

There’s a lot about knotts that’s good but if they just did two things it would be so much better.

1- the pavement/ground never quite matches the area consistently. It’s a killer for me.

2- the imposition of giant steel coaster beams in a boomtown aesthetic is weird feeling.

Details matter.

I have been told many times that this structure is no longer structurally sound to use for a people mover why are they making me believe that it might be
February 6, 2026 at 11:37 PM
Sometimes I think people don't talk enough about how "How far I'll go" from Moana totally ripped off the original Tron theme but maybe this is just an unpopular opinion
