Once, being a journalist, in the aftermath of Watergate, was an occupation to aspire to. Yes, there were those who had always looked down on the Press, but overall, journalists were viewed as courageous fighters for truth and justice.

Not anymore.

Unfortunately, as far as Chris Whipple and his book, Joe Biden on his worst day was better than what we got now under Trump.

Boise State caught a big break when Penn State's best player went out with injury in the 2nd quarter. Still, the spread was Penn State by 11.5, and they won by 17. So, no surprise in this game.

Everything was predicated on the assumption that we were fed up with Trump. Our influencers on X, our media. We knew the hateful ones were there. Didn't anticipate the willful ignorance and apathy of millions would allow him to squeak in the back door.

Started listening to holiday music November 1. YouTube and Pandora. Charlie Brown Christmas is the favorite as it brings happy memories of watching it for the first time December 9, 1965.

In 2016/2017, I subscribed to the WAPO/NYT, as I saw them a bulwark, a protector against the danger of Trump. 8 years later, having seen their cowardice in the face of Trump, I see no negative in their demise.

Out of every national election some institutions decay and die, while others emerge and grow stronger. Legacy media is a sad example of the former. Bluesky is a hopeful example of the latter.

I hope your weekend is treating you well. Like so many of you, I canceled my subscriptions, and cut back on consuming corporate media after the election. Getting rid of the constant negativity and lies is absolutely liberating.

We knew MAGA was garbage. No surprise Trump's choices to staff his administration are also garbage.

I no longer patronize most of the failed Fourth Estate, but I suppose we are no longer seeing stories of pitiful Dickensian Americans struggling to survive in the Biden economy? Stories stopped as of Election Day?

I have to admit that in the last 8 years I have not once seen anyone out in public wearing a Make America Great hat. Not sure why this is.

Biden and Kamala should not attend Trump's inauguration. Blow off the inevitable WAPO/NYT and the rest of the failed Fourth Estate whining. Speak the truth. You will not justify fascism by attending. What do they have to lose? Trump will be furious. Excellent.

The WAPO/NYT are hoping the election of Trump is a business bonanza for them. Why would anyone bother to take seriously anything from them or most other media? All are complicit in Trump's win.

What is genuinely spooky is half of Americans who voted for president in 2024 have more in common with Adolf Hitler than Franklin Roosevelt. It's definitely 1933 in America now.

Being afraid of offending MAGA deplorables and MAGA garbage has now cost us two elections and moved us into a fascist America. Being nice didn't work. It's ok on these sites to say what you're thinking. What's going to happen? Lose an election?
November 13, 2024 at 6:49 PM
Why do so many want to do that "let's light candles and sing sad songs as we mourn Trump's reelection" stuff again? Like the 2016 SNL piano song moment?
November 13, 2024 at 6:44 PM
I've read newspapers for over 60 years. Subscribed to the WAPO/NYT after Trump's first win. Watching them decay the last 4 years into enablers of Trump fascism is so disgusting. I can't read them or their imitators in the media now. The Fourth Estate is a failure. Hopefully, its decline continues.

Inflation will end on Monday, January 25, and our economy will commence to be the greatest of all time, thanks solely to Trump.
