Good. There were a lot of influential papers put on arxiv that just served corporate interests. Now if we can just fix peer review (she says not least because of the 15 review invitations she hasn't opened in her recent mail spools.)
arXiv will no longer accept review articles and position papers unless they have been accepted at a journal or a conference and complete successful peer review.
This is due to being overwhelmed by a hundreds of AI generated papers a month.

Really not going to get into it, but in 2025 it should be obvious that giving creepy-ass companies more data on you, even data you consider *innocuous*, is a very bad idea. The aggregation of said data, the assumptions made about you, and how that will be used to your detriment are well documented

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

Though you may not realize it, not only do these positions exist, but their effective caseloads rival hospitals and jails, so please be kind, they do not have it "easier" just bc they are in a library.
