I think this TMNT set inside the Lorwyn pre-release is brilliant:
It puts the spoilers to the next set in the hands of the players. Instead of content creators and outlets.
It highlights what all the Universes Beyond haters feel: Less Magic and more Universes Beyond even in the pure Magic sets.

Played some Riftbound and super pleased with the speed of the games. The starters aren’t pushing meta but it’s still got some strong synergy and plays

This feels like an interesting commander.
First cast or removal of the commander has its own answer in response with a board equalizer.
The creature itself lets you blink your own utility creatures while giving you a second spell, a way to save something, or shut down a threat.

I think universes within commander decks stink of old non-thematic cards (in art) over universes beyond commander decks with cards completely re-skinned thematically.

Worth it to pick up the remaining titles to have a complete collection?

So far the new mechanics of Spider-Man and TMNT haven’t been very exciting. Mayhem stands out.
I want battles that are sagas. The sagas thst create battles.
I think sagas hit story beats fine but I want more tension and reward.

I like turtles. I like this addition to the universe. We’re only a few more shows away from capturing my entire childhood.

Gorex is a turtle! Angsty like a teenager. Zombies are mutant adjacent. Bringing cards from your graveyard back to hand is very ninjutsu like.

After nearly five years of one of the greatest honors of my life, I will be stepping down as president of Birds of Paradise. Until a new direction for the group is decided, we will be going on an indeterminate hiatus.
