We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community... Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.

Today I joined a table rooted in the Black community focused on building trust between law enforcement and the people they serve. Breaking bread meant listening to understand, telling the truth, and seeing the humanity on both sides. This is how progress happens.

Walking through Oklahoma City Community College today hit home. OCCC is intentional about making higher education accessible and supportive, from enrollment to financial aid to tutoring. As a PTA alumna, I’m proud of how OCCC continues to show up for students.

Happy Black History Month.

Black history did not begin with slavery. It is a history of builders, leaders, innovators, and visionaries who shaped this nation while being denied credit and protection. Black history is American history. Our excellence is not rare. It is legacy.

Winter weather has roads unsafe this morning. I drove NW Expressway from County Line Rd to NW 63rd and saw 5 vehicles and a city bus pulled off. Please take this seriously.

If you must travel, slow down, leave early, and keep distance. If you don’t have to be out, stay home and stay safe.

Minneapolis is heavy. Real people are hurting while the world debates it like a headline. If you can defend harm because it’s “your side,” we’ve lost our humanity. Choose people.

We need ~200,000 signatures by Jan 26 to get it on the ballot. If you haven’t signed, please do.

Closed primaries push extremes and shut out too many voters. Oklahoma was last in voter turnout in Nov 2024. We’ve got to do better.

This is what community looks like. I walked the parade with friends, candidates, and people who care about their neighborhoods and this state. Dr. King’s legacy isn’t just something we celebrate, it’s something we carry forward. Onward. Still showing up. Still doing the work.

Dr. King didn’t just dream. He organized. He challenged power. He showed up.

At the MLK Prayer Breakfast, I’m reminded to keep showing up too, for democracy, justice, and accountability.

Progress isn’t completion. We are planted like seeds. And we will grow.

Happy MLK Day.

Today reminded me why I love this work. We showed up to boost turnout and strengthen connection. Door knocking in NW OKC with volunteers and local leaders, then ending at the Bethany Library with gubernatorial candidate and State Rep. Cyndi Munson.

Matthew 25 confronts me in today’s climate. Neutrality is not faith.

I chose to humble myself and serve. I follow the Jesus who flipped tables and stood with the least of these.

This is why I show up. This is why I serve.

Remember her.
Acknowledge her life.

Renée Nicole Good.

She was more than a headline. She was a daughter,a friend, a woman whose life mattered. Her loss leaves a real ache.

May her death not be in vain. Let it move us to pay attention, speak up, and look out for one another.

This fall I volunteered with the OK County Boys and Girls Club through Junior League OKC. I came to teach but left humbled by what pre teens taught me. Serving here grew my heart and reminded me why showing up for our community matters.

Sending warm wishes during Kwanzaa. A time to honor tradition, lean into community, and move forward with intention. May these days bring reflection, connection, and moments that strengthen how we show up for one another.

So thankful to celebrate the Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) graduates today. Grateful for an organization that invests in adults, believes in second chances, and helps people build better futures for themselves while strengthening our community one person at a time.
