I take 60-80 year 9 students to the eurospace centre in Belgium in June. Basically an interactive ‘train to be an astronaut ‘ experience with on site accommodation and food so it’s all self contained #chatphysics #iteachphysics

Preload the context - if you go to woolesthorpe manor, for example, make sure you do some lunctime workshops on Isaac Newton before. Otherwise everything they see will be like “yeah, so what?” Share your enthusiasm for it before you even leave #chatphysics

Also, I take Higher Physics pupils to Glasgow Uni's Quantum Technology School each year, and the feedback has been great from them. It showed them possible career routes they hadn't considered. Particularly in computing. #ChatPhysics

We went to Alton Towers as research for our A level maths coursework back in the 90s. Mine was on the acceleration forces involved in the corkscrew.
