I’m an avid reader, tea drinker (the cuppa kind but I enjoy some good tea too), a vegan, and I follow politics. Here to be with like minded peeps. 💙

The genre of books I read tend to be on the darker side: horror, fantasy, sci-fi, nonfiction.

Damn, this one hurt. I loved it but reading this was a major throat punch. I am still trying to catch my breath. I can’t shake it off. I need to cry.

Finished The Witch of Colchis by Rosie Hewlett.

Another delicious treat to gobble up. This retelling from Medea’s point of view paints a different picture to the story. This is herstory not history, as it should be.

This Mexican Gothic Horror was a delicious read for me. Read this in 2 days, I didn’t want to put it down. Love these kinds of haunted house stories with twists & turns keeping me turning those pages.

Ooo lots of carnage. Violence all ahead but packaged in a mystery a daughter is trying to figure out. I enjoyed this ride very much. Entertaining.

Finished The Trees Grew Because I Bled There by Eric LaRocca.

This collection is entertaining & interesting. They were short and after reading each one I sat on them a little to digest them. That’s where the magic happens. A good solid like.

Last month I found my 1st DNF for the year. DNF are pretty big deals for me.

I wanted to read this book was because Jim Henson when making the Dark Crystal made his crew read this book.

I was inspired to read but once I started I didn’t get far & knew this isn’t for me. Not my jam.

This book was recommended to me by a co-worker. I didn’t think I’d like it very much but it was interesting. It seemed like a rocky start but the writing is what drew me in.

My first read for September. Finished Why Does He Do That? by Lundy Bancroft.

This wasn’t an easy read. It was emotional and raw at times.

I highly recommend this book for those on an abusive relationship or if you know someone in an abusive relationship.

My dream is for it to happen like it does to vampires.

When the leader kicks the bucket, the rest of them burst into flames.
