We’ve written to the Environment Secretary requesting more information to comments made at our evidence session in March.

We discussed issues from air quality to delivering environmental protections alongside growth.

My @britishecologicalsociety.org POST Fellowship with @commonseac.parliament.uk has finished - an amazing experience. So many highlights, and working on the Sec of State for Defra session, sitting alongside EAC's Chair on the day was a big one.
Back to PhD-ing now and richer for the experience.

GOOD news! RSPB Geltsdale has secured even more vital habitat for wildlife, forever. 💚

That means space for Red Squirrels, Ring Ouzels, Hen Harriers & more to flourish, healthier rivers for Otters & amphibians, and farmland buzzing with life...

It was really cool to be in the room for this as part of my fellowship with the EAC, a really interesting and important session.

Also great to see the Environmental Audit Committee now on Bluesky!
In response to @chrishinchliff.bsky.social at our session yesterday, Ed Miliband argued for greater clean energy infrastructure to combat the climate crisis 👇

1/ The #Curlew is Britain’s largest wader, but sadly also one of its most threatened. Previous BTO research has shown that this is largely due to the number of chicks fledged that are able to survive to reach breeding age. #Ornithology #UKBirding

I recently had my first go at some secondary school outreach running a workshop station on camera traps for groups of Year 8 students. I did a short blog about the experience if anyone would like to know how I got on!

A really interesting Christmas lecture, lots of food for thought and plenty of discussion afterwards. Hopefully the start of a new festive tradition! 🎄
Fantastic to see a full house at our first Christmas Lecture in the beautiful Merchant Taylors' Hall last night. Prof Charlie Jeffery introduced our Associate Director Prof Kate Pickett who explored how equality can help to achieve transformative change and a just transition towards sustainability.
