Coffee shops in my area are becoming pure manufacturers with a dining space. I order from a kiosk, pick up a coffee, and bus my own table. It affects my tipping (5% seating + 5% taking order + 5% bringing order + 5% refill) and seems to be the future.

Went to the AI for Good first day: Norvig great; hopes for AI breakthrough understanding biology; lots of start ups. Dignifi, Renov8, Signature AI were great. 10 meh companies.

My #apple login is always anxiety producing because of the progressive backoff on password attempts. I hit the "locked for a minute" level before figuring out it had switched to a foreign keyboard, and I have abandoned a machine from multi-hour lockouts before. It is an ill-considered design.

My bank (#starone) has been #clownfishing. They are trying to do a legitimate communication, but the clunky automated voice call that starts by asking personal information reeks of phishing attacks.

Went on a three day trip to #sanfrancisco and Muir Beach. The doom and gloom reporting aside, the streets are far cleaner than I twenty years ago. We also saw only a handful of people stuck homeless. Similarly, visiting Muir Beach, no garbage. None.
Happy world exists outside of media.

People eventually fall too low on the credibility scale to even check their facts. After a few times of digging into the claims that "Eiffel is the language of the future!" or "There is no metadata in a printout", I won't even consider another claim from the person.
