Author of Losing Ground, Coming Apart, & The Bell Curve (w/ RJ Herrnstein), politically Madisonian, family man. Or perhaps pseudoscientist, racist, evil. Opinions differ. The picture is not contemporary.
1/2 A few days ago, a health service provider phoned to say that my test was being cancelled because the insurance provider wouldn't cover it. I asked how much it would cost to pay it myself. The answer was $373. I realize that $373 is a sum that many people can't afford to pay.

From www.johnderbyshire.com/Opinions/Dia.... I post it because connoisseurs of puns will want to add it to their collections. I think it's clever, but that a Chinese girlfriend for whom English is a 2nd language does not get a complicated English pun based on a biblical quote seems understandable..

1/6 Day 2. Are mental tests biased against Blacks? This topic has been examined minutely for decades. The two most powerful ways to check for bias are measurement invariance and predictive validity.
"Measurement invariance" asks whether a test measures the same construct across groups.
