After years on the NHS frontline and time in government policy, I've realised we are experts at managing the consequences of ill-health.

The real challenge is shaping the causes. But how? 🧵"

Building the future of healthcare requires all professionals to lead.

I propose for every hospital in the UK to have a Pharmacy Innovation Fellow to increase the spread and adoption of innovation and undertake research in their hospitals.

Antimicrobial Resistance isn't just a health crisis, it's a defence crisis too, affecting health security. Imagine a situation antibiotics don't work and people die of once treatable illnesses? I outline the impact of water pollution on antimicrobial resistance.

Getting back to blogging. Last week I finished reading the story which detailed Theranos' demise. It's a solid book with some great lessons on red flags to look for when investing in private companies.

Yesterday I attended the launch of @chamberuk.bsky.social / @curiauk.bsky.social's Life Sciences report in partnership with @revvity.bsky.social in Parliament. Discussions focussed on the barriers to adopt and scale innovations in the NHS such as procurement, evidence, and IG.

Great meeting Lord Kamall, Shadow Minister for Health in the House of Lords yesterday. We discussed all things #tech, #AI and #Pharmacy.

Despite our political differences it's important to build relations across the board and it was great to meet someone who genuinely cares about patient safety.

I'm on a mission to help pharmacists transition into alternative roles using their pharmacy skills; I've found a couple of interesting opportunities within the New Hospital Programme.

Both are Band 8c Clinical Fellow posts in NHS England:

Excited to share that I've had a comment piece published by Progressive Britain, formerly Progress, on how to reduce the impact of #antimicrobialresistance ( #AMR ), caused by the pharmaceutical waste on the environment.

Pharmacy owners in England, Wales and NI have voted in favour of cutting opening hours and stopping home deliveries in a protest over government funding. #pharmacy

This has been a long time coming. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.
