If today someone who is seen as a leader like Bernie Sanders asked like-minded left of Center colleagues to separate themselves from the Democratic Party and form a third-party built on a platform of leftist policy they would own enough of the House to control legislative action. A true third party.

Now is the time for a true left of center populist movement. There has never been greater demand for a third-party option, and the left has already elected many representatives in Congress. All it would take is for them to give it a name and distinguish their policy from the DNC.

Forced birth in a country with:

—No universal healthcare
—No universal childcare
—No paid family & medical leave
—One of the highest rates of maternal mortality among rich nations

This isn't about "life." It's about control.
