Det er litt fornærmende når et av de største forlagene i Norge tilbyr 10.000kr for cover og 10.000kr forskudd på en bok med 40+ illustrasjoner.
Tror de at jeg lever på luft og bor i et telt i skogen? Eller tror de at jeg kan lage 40+ illustrasjoner på 3 dager??

11) I'm not gonna make it to 21 tonight but my best advice to comic writers honestly is to draw a comic, color a comic, letter a comic. get to know what your colleagues are dealing with. and you will /know/ how to write in a way that your story will make it to where you want it to be

10) 30 pages of prose is not the same as 30 pages of comic script. it's like SUBSTANTIALLY less story. and you gotta make peace with that because trying to cram it in is shooting yourself (and your artist) in the foot and your end result will be disappointing

9) you can edit much more easily than the artist can. if you see something that needs changing in thumbs or pencils, state it then and there. if you don't see it until inks/colors, unless it's integral to the story, give it up. learn to see it earlier

Following up on my portfolio critique list: Any of you comics writers who teach feel like coming up with a list of 12 Things You Would Probably Tell an Aspiring Writer about their Comic Script?
Great idea! I'm not the guy to do it, but I'm sure it could be done: "The story starts on page three." "The protagonist's efforts would be more compelling if you established what the stakes are if she fails" etc.
