Tonight, I had one of my proudest moments as a parent: before going to bed, my two-year-old daughter Irene specifically requested that I sing “Joe Hill” three full times before I left.

In October of last year, I had the pleasure of visiting the University of Illinois for talks and a performance of my piece “stutter-step the concept.” I had a nice chat with Victor Zheng about the piece and about the collaboration.
