This problem persists in Canada too where our census asks what is your religion *even if no longer practicing*?

We're working with allies across Canada to improve the question before Census 2031.
Australia has seen a massive shift *away* from organized religion since 2011.

But the number of non-religious people continues to be underestimated because of how the Census asks about religion.

That faulty question will still be asked in 2026.
