"I'm afraid of Americans
I'm afraid of the world
I'm afraid I can't help it"

this 1995 song often played in my head when visiting the U.S. (in the beforetimes)

David Bowie called it. Also, in the music vid Trent Reznor plays the villain 🖤

this park is busy with humans in summer, but in winter it belongs to the geese. They used to all migrate but now many live here year round. With lawn buffets like this park why would a goose bother flying elsewhere

Happy #invertefest which I just learned about and love. This one is by an 8 year old on a dahlia variety that the bees adore

Slept through the Solstice so it was simply winter this morning
**Solstice**

10:03am ET — Dec 21, 2025

On this day, Earth's North Pole tips away from the Sun, while the South Pole tips towards it, bringing the first day of Winter to the Northern Hemisphere with increasing daylight, and the first day of Summer to the Southern Hemisphere with decreasing daylight

Merry winter in the northern hemisphere! from hereon the daylight lingers longer each day #solstice #artadventcalendar

Banning gender affirming care is denying evidence based medical care to a vulnerable minority. it is absolutely incorrect. and cruel. Madness in the US and here in Canada the poison creeps too #transrightsmatter

Remember when the city of T removed the Barenaked Ladies from a gig cuz a couple people at the city thought they were objectifying women? They figured it out. So when is our federal government gonna figure out Kneecap is an Irish band with activism roots and banning them is dumb? #kneecap #cdnpoli

Agree! Official agencies should have a communication plan in action already that involves moving away from these ill-managed has-been platforms. By remaining active they condone it. Would they join that network today? I used to use it for info, now I don't. I'm doing alright
Why is your government still using the platform?
After being given an order from our CRT and instead of doing the right thing, X refused to fully remove a non-consensual intimate image of a BC resident from its platform. Blocking access to the image only within Canada is not enough. These harmful images shouldn’t be available anywhere.

Alarming CBC reporting shows Canadian-branded weapons ending up with Sudan’s RSF — a force accused of mass atrocities.

Did the PM raise this while signing a trade pact in the region?

Canadians need answers. The Liberals must launch a full investigation and close the loopholes now.

Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation
