I'm not writing for the worst reader. I absolutely refuse.
If you want to skip stuff, that's on you. Don't complain when you're confused later.
Other writers, please do not write for the lowest common denominator. Write for your best reader; they are the ones who will stick around.

Readers will often skip prologues and ephemera (journal entries, song lyrics, footnotes)

They’ll also sometimes skip epilogues, denouements, and scenes they think don’t matter (intimacy, fights, chases)

And some just skip entire POVs and chapters

Edit accordingly, I guess #writingtips
