This morning we bid farewell to our @ceilteachomn.bsky.social @maynoothuniversity.ie colleague, Dr Eoin Grogan, at a service at Mt Jerome cemetery. @aidanosullivan.bsky.social gave a beautiful speech on behalf of Ireland's community of archaeologists, & Dr Mary Leenane spoke on behalf of Maynooth.
This week we lost one of Ireland’s most eminent prehistorians, Dr Eoin Grogan.

There has been an outpouring of shock and sadness in Irish archaeology, revealing that for so many of us, he was a mentor, as well as a man of kindness, gentleness and generosity.

It is with a heavy heart that we convey the sad news of the death of our good friend and colleague, Dr Eoin Grogan. May he rest in peace.

Is oth linn go mór a rá go ndeachaigh ár seanchara agus iar-chomhghleacaí, Dr Eoin Grogan, ar shlí na fírinne. Suaimhneas síoraí go raibh aige.

Mar sin de, ní haon réiteach draíochta ar na deacrachtaí seo é cealú na litríochta.
