The Spitting Image revivial has been hilarious. I've not seen anything else push the boundaries like this for a while. Stupid corporate lawyers over-reaching. Maybe now's the time for a YouTube alternative.

Wild that Apple basically won the court case against Epic years ago, but refused to comply with the one thing they lost on (out-of-app payment clarity), resulting years later in them being trashed by the courts, losing any ability to take commission on external purchases, and capitulating to Epic.

This is wild. Apple is fined €150m by France for delivering an effective solution to allow users to opt out of being tracked. Tracking users should not be a fundamental right afforded to businesses. Someone is in someone's pocket.
Following IAB France's complaint and other plaintiff associations (SRI France, Udecam, geste), the French Competition Authority imposes a fine of 150M euros on Apple over the the ATT (App Tracking Transparency) implementation www.autoritedelaconcurrence.fr/fr/communiqu...

Another fascinating post explaining Trump's motivations and how to beat him. (here's a non-paywalled link www.smry.ai/proxy?url=ht...)
You may have already seen it, but I finally got around to reading this piece: One Word Describes Trump. “Patrimonialism is distinguished by running the state as if it were the leader’s personal property or family business.” [theatlantic.com]
One Word Describes Trump
A century ago, a German sociologist explained precisely how the president thinks about the world.

Apple’s AI rollout has been a shambles - marketing a new iPhone on a feature that isn’t releasing until the next iPhone is released.

Remember - never buy something on the promise of what’s coming.

The message to our allies is chilling: U.S. support comes with a loyalty test, administered publicly and punitively.

America First inexorably drifts towards America Alone. We saw this last night, as world leaders rallied behind Zelenskyy, with figures like the U.K.s Ed Davey labeling it “thuggery.”

There has been a lot of chatter today about Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump, some regarding this moment when White House correspondent Brian Glenn asked if the Ukrainian president plans to wear a suit. I want to address idea in this thread. 🧵

“This was supposed to be over very quickly” was the standout comment for me at the Zelenskyy/Trump meet. Trump is completely dispassionate - and would have been fine with Russia taking back Ukraine. It’s all business to him.

Shuttering USAID was the first high profile DOGE move, and widely condemned, but I know nothing about USAID and felt unable to have an opinion on whether this was good or bad. This podcast was really enlightening and taught me a lot about it www.reflector.show/p/breaking-u...

Book banning wtf. The notion that even reading not just *an idea*, but someone’s lived experience, could objectively harm kids is so obviously rooted in fear and prejudice than in love and empathy.
After the murder of George Floyd, sales of books by Black authors skyrocketed. Now, there are efforts to ban many of the same books. Jerry Craft is one of the authors who got caught up in the backlash.

The madness in America just keeps escalating. And not only do they keep getting away with it, the whole system seems to keep enabling it. Shouldn't every outlet be leading with this stuff in abhorence?

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.
