#AcrosticJanuary #calm

Since I failed at my first self-imposed rhyming scheme, here's a re-take but with ironic meaning expression.

Cad! This failure of an
Ad would make any decent
Lad stomp out the store

#AcrosticJanuary #calm

I decided to make the first word of each line rhyme as well as express calm, but realized too late that I included a slant rhyme.

Can you understand why
An exited, bouncing
Lamb will soothe me more than any hu-
Man?

But I love the result so much....
it's pretty much an addiction. 😝

You know what's funny? Is I still generally prefer structure and rhyme!

Well done Jen! And I totally relate to sore fingers and a head full, and tired of "ew"!

I have to go for the day, but will follow up tomorrow.

with worldview failure.

Having a grand narrative is very helpful.

I came across a breakdown of worldview into beliefs of self, others, the world and existence. This framework is helpful because what has primarily failed for me is my beliefs about others and the world and my place with respect

Thank you so much for this, Arliden the Bard. It is very much in line with my worldview, and very close to what I grew up with in my family, but I've never seen it summarized so well. I'm going to copy and paste it into a document too, and maybe share it with some friends who are also struggling

Yes to the open endedness and yes to the exhaustion! I have to sign off now, probably for the day, but will plan to pick up tomorrow morning.

Thank you. So is the paradox that we can know something, but never completely? As in knowing and not knowing at the same time?
January 29, 2026 at 4:55 PM
terms incorrectly.
January 29, 2026 at 4:39 PM
I did understand the paradox to be epistemological, but can you spell it out for me? Although I love philosophy, I have no formal training beyond reading an intro textbook on my own a few years ago and I'm unfamiliar with terminology. I do want to learn the - but for now I might use technical

OK, let me see if I understand:

Do you mean that a concept can be created or developed by multiple people and then also shared by multiple people? For example, an iconic fictional character such as Batman, for example?
January 29, 2026 at 4:39 PM
Sorry, I'm confused on two accounts.

Is this the paradox?

Isn't independent a relational descriptor?

I have found it hard to find and connect with other people who like this kind of conversation, so, yay! It's good to meet you!

I like your parenthetical comment, Olivia!

Also, when I think of "absolute truth" I more think of it as "that which is external to our individual and collective human consciousness." But this does not mean absolute truth is necessarily unchanging....
January 28, 2026 at 8:14 PM
Hmmm, it sounds like the impossibility of certainty is an absolute truth for you?

Would you agree to your existence as true?

(And thank you!! This pushed me to comprehend Descartes on a whole new level. But that doesn't mean I accept that much else.)

of absolute truth by cross referencing and resolving our perspectives.

Thoughts?
January 28, 2026 at 5:02 PM
Yes! I love this!

I find it helpful to think of "absolute truth" as a fixed centre, like the centre of a galaxy. But we are all moving relative to it, and we are at different places from each other with different moving perspectives.

Just like Copernicus, we can get a better understanding

survival is the primary meaning of existence. As a meaning driven person, I find that....horrific.

You commented on the darker side of human nature. Could you unpack that for me? Especially in relation to your earlier expression of humans as essentially good?
January 28, 2026 at 4:34 PM
Thank you - I hadn't heard of this before, although it fits with my own musings and revision of my understanding of evolution.

And, in addition to removing nature as an entity (that's the best I can phrase this concept at the moment) "survival of the fittest" also conveys that
