Really enjoyed working on this one with @emilyaharris.bsky.social and star student Nadia, it was a privilege to learn about and engage with a new performance environment.

Our latest explores perceived barriers to mental health help seeking among elite coaches. Led brilliantly by soon to be Dr Frost, the findings highlight a key problem: The pressure and instability of elite sport was the most important, yet least feasible challenge to address. doi.org/10.1136/bjsp...

Super stoked to have worked on this collab with @juliamarshall.bsky.social @mattiwilks.bsky.social and Lucius Caviola. We propose that the latest developmental research suggests children begin with broader circles of concern and these restrict with age. Check it out at @nathumbehav.nature.com
🥳🥳 New paper in @nathumbehav.nature.com: “When development constricts our moral circle." Contrary to popular belief, younger kids may start out with broader moral circles than older ones. Check it out here 👉 rdcu.be/eoaSe

A privilege to be involved in these recently published pieces of work which will make an important contribution to mental health supports in both the community and elite ends of Australian sport. Both open access:

So great to see this piece out. No doubt it will be a go-to resource for years to come!

Great to see this study out. This one certainly had its challenges along the way, but points to some really promising opportunities for utilising the power of self-compassion in the performing arts.

Hopefully much more to come!

Very excited about new preprint from our Lab, led by
@joshkugel.bsky.social - the first (+ very comprehensive) systematic review on psychedelic-catalyzed insights.

A review with its own discoveries… not just summaries. Well done Josh + @rubenlaukkonen.bsky.social,@existwell.bsky.social, M Yücel.

Launched a new HiTOP YouTube channel to host some videos my RA Tash Turner-Cohen and I are working on.

We've just posted the first one, which gives a brief overview of some of the limitations of the DSM: youtu.be/4Kwu_1oMD9U

Hello! It looks better here so I think I'll stay - I'm a Psychologist (Sports Reg) and Senior Lecturer at Uni Melbourne. My research is mostly focused on supporting mental health in high performance environments (elite & youth sport; performing arts), with an emphasis on compassion-based approaches

Here is a brief summary of this talk for those who might not have a spare 45 minutes to watch the full video.
