Law enforcement officers CANNOT use deadly force against a fleeing person fleeing unless they have a reasonable belief that the individual poses a danger to others (e.g., they know the person is armed). If in vehicle, the person must be threatening to use deadly force with the vehicle or other means

It is a sad fact—but a fact nonetheless—that we have in the White House a fundamentally anti-American administration.

Five years ago, Sarah Matthews was working in the Trump White House. January 6 horrified her so much that she resigned.

She looks back on that horrible day and Speaker Johnson’s refusal to honor the officers who defended the Capitol.

‼️How incredibly dangerous

These are kids covered by Medicaid/CHIP—disadvantaged kids

If we don’t have data on vaccine coverage, we can’t identify communities most at risk of harm or death from outbreaks

💀RFK Jr’s anti-vaxx MAHA movement is a death cult

Great reporting by @lizszabo.bsky.social👏
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), run by Oz and his boss, RFK Jr., will no longer require physicians to report vaccination rates.

Instead, they plan to start having doctors report if they’ve discussed “alternative” vaccine schedules.

Here’s hoping there’s a smart effort to review and improve our universal healthcare system.

And of course, hoping Trump leaves office in 2026!

Trump is testing congress and the American people to see what he can get away with. He pardons felons routinely, kills foreign nationals without proof of wrong doing, and has an extrajudicial police force with masks, abducting people off the streets without warrant or miranda rights. Enough yet?

I'm still holding out hope that she will make positive changes. They have a good level of funding and I doubt she would stay in the position if she doesn't feel supported. There are many headwinds. Retiring MD #s are an ongoing challenge - about 4-5 million Ontarians have family MDs > age 55 yrs.
December 18, 2025 at 4:17 PM
The @ontariohealth.bsky.social government should publish new family physicians opening practices & the number of family physicians retiring annually. Improving efficiency through adding nurses, nurse practitioners and staff is helpful. However, the most bang for the buck is to add a new Family MD.

Better transparency would certainly help the Ford government save face on efforts to improve attaching Ontarians to family doctors. I'm am bit concerned we are asking family doctors to take on heavier workloads. What does that do to quality of care i.e access?

Can Alberta make it work? We lack the manpower in RNs, physicians, hospital and radiology staff to support private and public health services in ON. In time, sure this could be an option to improve healthcare access. Investments must be made now in public systems while we train more MDs, RNs, etc.
