Following approval of recovered appeal on Brighton Gasworks by @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social the council has had full costs awarded against them. The letter from PINs is v robust & makes clear that no. of objections is not a planning consideration-it's the substance of the objection that matters

In our Plan for Change we promised to rebuild Britain by fast-tracking planning decisions on major economic infrastructure.
We’ve delivered on that promise - giving the green light to the largest number of such projects in the first year of any parliament.

So many nuances in government planning & housing stats that you can miss some really good news like this!
This significant uptick in starts reflects our sector's commitment to building the affordable homes the country sorely needs.
By working in partnership with the government on its ambitious plans, we can continue addressing the housing crisis whilst generating economic growth.

I've been updating my slide showing what the Gov has achieved since last July through planning reform to boost housing delivery. Given the mess the previous Gov left @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social has delivered a huge amount on all aspects of the housing ecosystem & it is beginning to pay dividends
