The work was inspired by classical renaissance oil paintings. A character design sheet for a character named bells. A series of headshots showing her with and without her mask and headpiece, as well as a full body black and white Illustration. Another tarot card, this time “the hanged man”. The card tells the story of a young girl growing up around plague. I wanted to use dramatic colours and negative space to highlight not only the void she felt, but also make the colour of death all the more vivid. A 3D model bust of an original character, Gemma Adichie. This bust showcases modelling complex hairstyles, intricate clothing such as a cravat and spectacles.

Does anyone else always think that their Artworks are messy and dirty, even when for the most part objectively they aren't? 🫟 I always get this feeling looking at other folk works, but when I go to compare them, there isn't that much difference. It's weird feeling 🧐🧐

Was inspired by Simz Artbook to really play with a limited colour palette and a complex background. Not perfect but a good study! I hope you like! 👍

Sigh… my wife’s Masters degree application didn’t make it all the way. This was the easiest method for us to move to my home country together, as absurdly, it would be very hard for me to sponsor (wife of 3 years!) off the bat given I don’t have a UK income but a JPN one. Back to the drawing board
