this is the first year in my career that I've not had a single new commercial opportunity, much less the stable workflow of years past. my stolen costume and character designs turn up next to ai-generated "worldbuild" inspiration aggregates, illustrated book covers + editorial are elusive. screams.
Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.
