Didn't get these up yesterday, and no, last night didn't change anything.

My 2025-26 Season Predictions:

Awards:
MVP: SGA
DPOY: Wemby
ROY: Flagg
MIP: Mathurin
6MOY: John Collins
COY: Mike Brown

Couldn't convince myself of non-chalk.

I think Luka leads the league in scoring.

Barnes has hit at least three 3s coming off a curl to the top of the key.
It's a nice little wrinkle to the Spurs offense can throw in there from time to time throughout the game.

Spurs ramped up the defensive pressure that last possession starting with Vassell picking KCP up full court.
Even with a foul thrown in, the force a turnaround fadeaway 3 that barely drew iron.

They took the bumps with Sochan's offensive game because of everything else he could do on the court.
They just need to do the same with Carter.

And as I typed that, he drilled a 3.

(I know different timelines and all, but the talent is there)

Carter will learn that he either needs to give that ball up early or take it the whole way.
Giving it up would've let Sochan go 1x1 or even throw a lob back to him.
Taking the whole way forces the defender to take him and would give Sochan the chance at a rebound.

I can't, and I don't think anybody should be able to, get over how awesome Sochan's 3pt shot looks right now.

The Grizzlies having JJJ, Edey, and Aldama and also having a pretty strong wing core is definitely going to cause problems for the Spurs without Wemby, Castle, and Harper.

Hadn't thought about Memphis having Coward.
He'll be fun to watch for the first time after being pretty high on him in the draft.
November 19, 2025 at 1:13 AM
Bit of a different environment than the previous 2 games I've been to here at the Frost Bank Center.
No Wemby, Castle, Harper, Ja, and a handful of other Grizzlies.
Perhaps also it being a Tuesday night.
Still 16 minutes left before the game gets going, though.

Holy smokes! What a pass from Sochan.
November 9, 2025 at 1:26 AM
You don't see defenders beat the dribbler to their own handle like that often. That's just how quick Fox is.
November 9, 2025 at 1:21 AM
Tonight feels almost like a 2nd season opener for the Spurs to me.
Can't wait, like everyone else, to see how this offense runs with Fox at the helm.
November 9, 2025 at 1:03 AM
What a hell of a game. Easily the best Spurs win of the young season.
So many "little things" were done well down the stretch, like what was happening during that 5-0 start.

New pod up.
Had to get some thoughts out on the voting results from last night, as well as on reactions I saw coming out of the Suns loss and injury updates.

The Spurs city edition jersey is whatever to me.
But the shorts and the court are fantastic.

The crowd was about to blow the roof off if that Champagnie 3 went down.
Spurs cranked things up at the end of the 3rd and these fans were loving every bit of it.

Harper and Castle are absolutely relentless getting into the paint.

And I can't help but think about how they're close to adding Fox to that.

Fan wins Whataburger for a year.
I know that'd make Charles Barkley a happy man.

I'm assuming the ref pointing at his hand toward the scorers table means they're counting that as a block.
I don't know if I've ever seen that.

Which would mean the Wemby block streak stays alive.

What a fun half of basketball. Both teams likely feel they let a couple things happen or else they'd be up 10+.
Curious what wrinkles get thrown out there in the 2nd half.
October 31, 2025 at 1:44 AM
Love Mitch running some pindown actions for Vassell.
They've needed a little more movement shooting in their offense for a few years.

Getting the crowd ready to roll with a rendition of Seven Nation Army.
The vibes are high right now.
October 31, 2025 at 12:41 AM
It feels weird to me that there's nobody screaming in the Spurs' pre lineup hype video.
October 31, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Honored getting to fill in from time to time for the great Carolina Teague. Let's see if the Spurs can make history.

It's not quite this simple. Wemby's strength, handle, and touch around the basket got so much better to allow this.
He was getting pushed out to the 3pt line by anybody he tried to post and had a loose handle that hurt drives.
So while he grew and developed, he "settled" for jumpers.
Wemby walking in the door thinking his shooting and ball handling is what sets him apart and the Spurs being like dude you're 7'5 let's focus on that and he is THRIVING
At Y! Sports: I wrote about Victor Wembanyama playing the quiet part loudly, what's been different in San Antonio's 4-0 start, and the possibility that the Spurs are already here: yhoo.it/47cLDBl
