A Cinnamon Teal, a smallish duck that has cinnamon side, dark and light striped back, a darker brown-cinnamon head and red eyes. Its bill is dark. It is swimming in a pond with tall grasses all around it.

#BlueSkyArtShow needs more #birds! Went looking for #reflections today and found this adorable horned grebe. Who knew they had dark red devil eyes?!

From shore, I thought it was a pied-billed, but it wasn't until I got home I realized I found a new lifer!

I often managed to get good Bald Eagle pictures sitting in a favourite tree in Magnolia (the Eagle, not me), but not many in flight for #FlyDay, but did get this one which I quite liked. A youngish one judging by the colours. #Birds 🪶 #BirdInFlight #Photography
A Bald Eagle in level flight, wings out, going from right to left of image. Right wing with just a little tip up at the end. Against partially cloudy sky, and a tree line at the foot of the image. The bird is mainly brown as the upper wings and back are most visible. The distinctive white tail and head still have some brown feathers, marking this as a young bird. The bright strong, hooked bill and sharp light eye finish the shot.

Another of the group of Western Bluebirds I saw a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully they are still around, and I will get to add them to my 2025 list too. #birds 🪶
A Western Bluebird on a pale slender branch. The bird is small with a deep blue head, neck, throat, back, wings and tail with a cinnamon chest and flanks. Different from the Eastern Bluebird in having blue under its small, pointed bill. Other pale branches and a few green and yellow oval leaves in the frame.
