elon said they deleted the "direct file" tax payment system, a beneficial & efficient program that let people file taxes on their own. the only beneficiaries of this move are massive corps like h&r block/intuit who sell tax filing services, & of course the politicians they donate to.

this week the senate will vote to confirm russell vought (the guy behind project 2025) to the OMB. THIS MUST BE STOPPED. with elon in control of the treasury, this could affect social security, medicare, etc so if you or your loved ones depend on those programs you need to WAKE UP & participate.

i get people saying “complain to your elected officials” but i did that and contacted every single one of them over covid about millions of mixed income workers who were severely fucked on unemployment & all i got was a “thanks for your email” reply from one person lol

saw an interesting video about how research has proven how humor is super effective when fighting fascism. but it made the good point that we shouldn’t “punch down” by making fun of our fellow americans who we’ve been forced into conflict with, but focus on the leaders & people in power.

every couple of months i run out of vyvanse for a few weeks due to some bureaucratic bs & just have to flounder around life until they decide to refill the medication that makes me a functional member of society 😹

the WHY is so important. are they getting paid for clicks/views? are they selling you a product or other call to action? are they intending to evoke emotions > thought? if they’re personally benefiting (usually money/influence/power) from their claims, you should be skeptical.
& for the love of god, question your sources. ALL OF THEM, not just the ones you disagree with. ask yourself who is providing (& funding) the info, why they’re providing it (their desired result), what their qualifications are on the topic, & how aligned they are w/ other experts
