Excited and honored to share the cover art for my forthcoming novel: IF THE DEAD BELONG HERE, available 10/7/2025 from @vikingbooks.bsky.social.

It features @christibelcourt.com's stunning piece entitled, “Bird Song,” which feels wholly tied to the heart of this book.

Today is publication day for Alejandro Heredia’s debut novel, LOCA. He is one of the most warm-hearted writers I’ve known & you’ll find a lot of that heart in these pages. Do yourself a favor and pick it up today—and tell your libraries to get it on their shelves. We need stories like his:

An incomplete compilation of books I’m looking forward to this year—works from @jonvhickey.bsky.social, @erikatwurth.bsky.social, @thedennemichele.bsky.social, and Alejandro Heredia. Even if it won’t be a good year for everything, let it be a good one for books.

Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and yesterday I got to hand my grandma a book with a story I wrote about our people. It was inspired by her brother Berlin, who she lost before this photo of her with some of her siblings was taken.
