This vintage 1913 French postcard features a black cat resting in a bed, with the caption "Porte Veine," meaning "bringer of luck." At the time, black cats were linked to superstition, so the card playfully presents the cat as a symbol of good fortune.

I haven't posted a real embroidery update in a While, but I'm finally on the home stretch. The end is in sight. I just have to do a frankly ludicrous amount of metallic stitching, and I can wash it, etc., and put it up on my wall.
