I admit it; I squealed aloud when I read this lovely blurb for SNAGGED: A Lady Lovely Locks novel. Princess Bride and Adventure Time are two of my all-time favorites. I’m half-tempted to get it tattooed on my face. On shelves 2/10!
SNAGGED: A LADY LOVELY LOCKS NOVEL is out today! I had so much fun tapping into this crazy world. If you have half as much fun reading it as I did writing it, you will enjoy it. Thank you to the fine folks at RP Kids, Cloudco, and kt literary for letting me play in this crazy hair-themed sandbox!

In her natural habitat, even! How are you, friend!?!

Kirkus has spoken! If you like geek cred and snark, might I suggest that you preorder SNAGGED before it hits shelves tomorrow?

Yeah, cannot argue with that.

One of the characters in SNAGGED is described as an “anime bad boy.” Who’s your favorite anime bad boy? (What can I say? I’m a sucker for a vampire.) #anime #booksky

Game-wise, I played and highly recommend Codenames: Duet for tabletop players and Citizen Sleeper for video gamers. Citizen Sleeper’s story is so good that it honestly makes me a little jealous.

What are you reading, watching, or playing to refill the well?

I finally got around to watching the first season of Arcane, and all of you were right. It’s so so good. If you’ve been dragging your feet like I was, get on that.

In January, I read 16 books and comics, including two selections for Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge. I love how it pushes me to pick up things I might not normally read, and I really enjoyed my two January picks:

Refilling the creative well is so important, and sometimes I lose track of it in all the chaos, so I’ve decided to try a monthly recap to see if it helps me make it more of a priority...

Finally got around to updating the gallery wall behind my desk with some of my new book covers and art from loved ones. At some point, I hope to fill the whole wall.

If you haven't checked out Publishing for Minnesota, you really should. There are some great opportunities there from signed copies to AMA sessions with folks all across the publishing industry. Head over there and place a bid--even if that means outbidding me.

Omg I would pay a million dollars for the chance to write Count Duckula. I don't have a million dollars, but the sentiment remains the same.

The dolls were great. I spent a lot of time with Pixietails clipped into my hair.

And I have to admit--I didn't even recognize the name Wildfire, but as soon as I looked it up, I remembered it. Didn't realize the Beagle connection--I'll definitely have to revisit. I could use a comfort watch.

It feels very odd to talk about books like nothing is happening and the world is all happy bunnies right now. But ultimately, I write about the world as I wish it could be, and maybe that in and of itself is an act of defiance.

Let’s talk retro cartoons! Who remembers Lady Lovely Locks and her friends? I’m helping to relaunch their adventures with my new book, SNAGGED, which hits shelves on 2/10! What other forgotten gems do you wish would be resurrected for new audiences?
