I’m in awe of these federal workers’ powerful show of resistance. We all need to bring this level of energy to protecting the programs and services we care about that are currently under attack.

Yesterday, I was dropping off a package and a woman saw my mask, looked at me, and said “good for you for taking care of yourself.“ I smiled, which she could see through my eyes, and it started a conversation. By the end, she said “I think I might put my mask back on now.”

When you say “I won’t vaccinate my child because it causes autism,” I hear “I would rather my child contract a life-threatening disease than be neurodivergent.”
