I'm site director at a homeless shelter in Bemidji. We are overwhelmed this year. Our overnight shelter is already seeing 30+ people per night with 24 beds. It's going to get worse as the weather gets colder. My staff is already getting burned out and it's only November. namelesscoalition.org

Looks like my neighborhood (Old Town) is the last to get service in Bemidji. Coincidentally, we're also maybe the least wealthy neighborhood.

Day 4 without power in Bemidji. There are no crews working in my neighborhood. Trees are still hanging from power lines and on houses. Is there an update from anyone? Did the workers all go home?

I've dunked on Bemidji plenty in the past but it is my town and I'm mourning it. You may have seen photos but they don't reflect the true span of the destruction from the hurricane force winds early Saturday morning. This town will never be the same. Unbelievably there were no storm-related deaths.
