This sort of thing does worry me a little, as a professional lurker - I pretty much fit the profile of a bot.
It seems like spammy follow/DM bots are on the rise again. Getting a whole lot of "follows 100 people, no post/only reposts, 0-5 followers" sort of folks. It feels like there was a couple months where it was less often, I wonder if moderation stuff has changed or if there's just a new campaign.

Surely not coincidence that as soon as Gary Lineker announced that he is leaving MOTD, Justin Welby resigned.
Lineker is clearly a shoe-in for Archbishop of Canterbury, but I'm not sure Welby could cope with Alan Shearer's banality.
