This. I’ll take Simone’s imperfect but authentic outrage about the bullying of trans athletes over perfectly-scripted, non-risky, performative gestures any day.
And if we WANT more athletes and more politicians and more prominent people yelling at transphobes, we have to come to terms with the fact that not all of those people have taken gender studies 101.
