I am fascinated by restaurants that used to be inside old Holiday Inns.

Let's showcase some of them:

ENTERTAINMENT NIGHTLY

Back in around 2017 I bought a series of photos in a binder labeled "Displays" and they were right in my wheelhouse.

One of my earliest found photo collections, both in when I purchased them and the date, are the Andrew Love photos taken between 1944-1947 by a high school photographer at North High School in Worcester, Massachusetts.

I first scanned and posted these back in 2009.

Another minor collection within my bigger collection is the more than 100 Burkhart billboard photos I found years ago. The photos were taken in the mid 1980s in Indiana.

Went through my collection of old roller skate skate labels and scanned/rescanned them all. I did not realize that I had amassed 182 different ones.

The original purpose of these things was to affix them to your roller skate case and showcase all the different places you skated.

Yours truly, 1993. Rocking a surf shirt even though I lived in Southern Idaho and had never been never a surfboard in my life. What a cool dude.

My Aunt Pat, whom I absolutely adore, is currently in the hospital and probably won't make it out. She has meant the world to me. We have shared so many laughs and so many tears together. She's always been a champion for me. I love her dearly.

I haven't shared enough of my phone cards from the late 90s:

Today is the 17th (!) anniversary of the first time I started posting my collection online.

Last week I bought more than a dozen late '90s/early 00s software programs, all of them in their original boxes. Many of them unopened.

Here's the first one I bought for 10 cents

ClickArt 125,000 deluxe image pak from 1999 (unopened) with a CompUSA sticker.

I have taken a break from scanning matchcovers to get back to one of my smaller collections - playing card (swap card) art.

I recently purchased about 150 new cards and now I currently have over 1500 scanned.

Here of some of the new ones:

Sometimes I feel like some idiot Nero scanning while modern Rome burns, but then I remember that I can't control the horrors, but I can scan a 2001 AOL 7.0 disc that was created exclusively for JCPenney associates.

It's not just matchcovers I have been scanning. I am now at 1424 swap cards (playing card art).

Closing in on 25,000 scanned and cataloged.

I have no idea when or where I bought this (and 3 other) McDonald's Happy Meal boxes.

Can somebody tell me the year? It's definitely from the '80s, I just can't find the date.

Another crazy detail is that I scanned and cataloged over 29,000 postcards from my collection before I started this project

I might be the only idiot to ever attempt to scan and catalog their entire 90,000+ matchcover collection front and back.

I both regret and don't regret ever starting.

I am way closer to staring than done, and I can't stop now at 20,000+. It may kill me but I hope to make it worthwhile someday.
