A tree I made 10 years ago when I was first learning vs now, one of our trees in @capycastaway.com!! I love both trees and looking back at how my processes and pipelines have evolved.

A somewhat realistic pine tree modelled in Blender, rendered on a flat grey background. Those are probably all actual individual planes as pine needles, which is maybe why the shadows look more complex. Don't know how my computer survived this. A very stylized pine tree, with flat, cone-shaped planes stacked on top of each other that have a hand-drawn texture on them and a transparent alpha. Tufts of more hand-drawn planes stick out to give it some texture. This is a screenshot from our game, and is rendered in Unity in a colourful environment with grass and water bright aqua water in the background.
