Hi! My partner and I are trans and this weekend we opened our dream coffee shop in Toronto called Understory (505 Church St if you’re local). It’s been packed every day with people from all walks of life and the joy I feel is immeasurable. In these dark times, I just want to show you a little light❤️

I managed to clear 30 minutes today so I walked to the food court for lunch. Had BBQ pork.

Ran into some top level bosses and we had a good chat, solved some issues.

Back at my office I noticed I'd splattered BBQ sauce all over my blouse.

So I interacted with VIPs in a BBQ Splattered Blouse. 🤦‍♀️

Reading for my Dead Sea Srolls class. They are describing events B.C.E.

And I get confused.

Second half of the 2nd Century B.C.E.

Is that closer to 200 B.C.E or 100 B.C.E??

Head spinning

So WDR (Wet Dress Rehearsal) is about to start. I've been working hard on the schedule for my people. The whole affair is over 2 days long, 24/7.

Also stressing over the PTB (Pre-Test Brief). Boss used to do it. This was my first for the whole team. Roughly 60 folk in the meeting.

Nailed it!

So I had to go for some training. The lot was full so I had to park in overflow.

This fellow was about 20ft / 6m from my car.

Kennedy Space Center is on a Wildlife preserve. Critters like this are all over. He was about 8ft / 2.4m long.

It was 8°F / -13°F when I left Chicago the other day.

So here I am, in titusville, florida, and we're having a cold snap. 34°F/ 1°C.

Everyone is wearing their heavy coats, shivering. I have a sweater on.

This morning there was a light frost on my car.

I Thought "Isn't that cute."

Engineering support on Console during Launch Ops can mean long shifts. I pulled a 16hr shift or 2 during the Artemis I campaign.

I'm prolly gonna do a 12-14 hour shift for this WDR and Launch.

But I just realized ive done 2 - 12hr days just on Preps.

Oh boy

Did you know that NASA has an entire SharePoint site dedicated to the explanation of their acronyms?
January 27, 2026 at 12:49 AM
From here in out Artemis II shall be referred to as A2.

It's what we call it on Center.

'Cuz of course NASA has an acronym or shortening of everything.

So busy we dont have time for words. Only letters. 😘

So many folks here expressing their outrage over the state of our country.

And I'm over here posting about mundane things and the exciting work I'm doing on Artemis II.

Doesn't mean I'm not enraged.
I am enraged. Beyond belief.

My choices of post are meant as a momentary pause from the pain.

I bought new luggage.

So of course I'm getting deluged with ads for luggage.

Of note are the hanging kit bags for your personal care stuff.

I have one.

But I've noticed, hotels don't have hooks to hang them any more.

Maybe hang them on the mirror. Or the shower door.

Frustrating.

1st day back on Center. So many people were excited to see me. I got hugs!

We've a lot of work to do. Wet Dress Rehearsal (WDR) of Artemis II is quickly approaching.

Go Artemis.

Look at me, flying 1st class, the woman with no class.
The woman who sat in the wrong seat and had to get chased out.

Classy

See a guy at the airport wearing a sweatshirt with the thin blue line flag on one sleeve, the silhouette of an assault rifle on the back, and what longs like the stars and bars (confederate flag) on the other sleeve.

Class A individual.

And he's on my flight.

That's the point.

Transition is not a choice, not a decision.

It's a necessity.

It IS a choice, to Live!

It IS a decision, NOT to go to the dark place that not transitioning leads to.
It was uncharacteristic that my brain said one day I was doing it. And that my brain didn't let me waiver like I had on many things throughout the decades with her.

I did slow my transition for family but never considered detransition. Transition isn't a choice, it's living.
