Today's #Capes365 character proves it's the size of the fight in the dog. Cassie Lang debuted this date in 1979 in Marvel Fanfare 47. The daughter of Scott Lang (Ant-Man), she developed a heart condition that led her father to a life of crime to pay for treatment. The things we do for our kids...

I am having such a hard time concentrating on telling stories about heroes and villains, while our world is burning down around us.

I’m told to compartmentalize, but how?? We’re well past the point where we can just keep our heads down and hope it all gets better.

I’m so frustrated.

Today's #Capes365 character is a grotesque, amorphous orange monster who is the embodiment of the cumulative hatred of all living things. And no, we don't mean HIM... We're talking about Omega, who debuted today in 1979 in the pages of Superboy & the Legion of Super-Heroes 250.

Since people seem to be mad at Ron Funches for no good reason (he's a delight!), today's #Capes365 character is King Shark. Nanaue - his real name - was introduced in Superboy #9 on 9/13/94. Unlike Ron's lovable portrayal in the Harley Quinn show, the comics version is straight up nasty.

Today's #Capes365 proves that sometimes the apple falls VERY far from the tree. James Gordon, Jr. debuted this date in 1987, and went on to become the polar opposite of his steadfast, honest, loyal father & sister. He started off like all babies do: tossed off a bridge & saved by Batman.

Take cover before today's #Capes365 character explodes in a rage! Frank Simpson, better known as Nuke, is a supersoldier who tattooed the American flag onto his face. Because if anything says "well adjusted individual", it's a guy with a flag tattoo on his face...

Don't blink or you'll miss today's #Capes365 character. Tommy Shepherd, better known as Speed, debuted in Young Avengers 10 this date in 2006. Raised in Springfield NJ (where Anthony lived for the better part of a decade), he was found by the team in a detention cell after he vaporized his school.

S'yadot #563sepaC retcarahc si erus ot tsac a lleps no uoy! Zatanna Zatara is one of the most powerful magic users in the DC universe, whose power comes from her magician father Giovanni Zatara. To focus her power, she recites spells by speaking backwards. Ytterp looc, thgir?

Attache ta Tuque! Today's #Capes365 character will come at you fast. Jean-Paul Beaubier, aka Northstar, debuted this date in 1979 in X-Men 120 alongside his Alpha Flight teammates. Unfortunately, we only have enough time & space for one character today, c’est de valeur!

Keep yourself together for today's #Capes365 character. Johann Kraus was introduced to the world in BPRD: Hollow Earth & Other Stories today in 2003. A German psychic, he survived a seance gone wrong which stripped him of his body, leaving only ectoplasm. Light as a feather, not stiff as a board ;)

Let's see you get out of learning about today's #Capes365 character. Scott Free, better known as Mister Miracle, debuted this day in 1971. The son of Highfather, his dad traded him to Darkseid for Orion to prevent war. He grew up on Apokolips tortured by Granny Goodness, until he escaped.

Today's Capes365 character isn't a person, but it's just as much a character and integral part of the DC universe as any individual, metahuman or otherwise. Gotham City was first named as such in Batman #4 on January 13, 1941, and it has become one of the most famous fictional cities of all time.

WE ARE EXCITED about today's #Capes365 character. Eddie Brock made his first full appearance in the Amazing Spider-Man 300 on this date in 1988, and from jump he became bonded to Peter Parker (see what we did there?) in ways neither man could have imagined. First he hated Peter & wanted him dead...

Awright, nimrods, today's #Capes365 is the greatest Green Lantern of all time, and if you don't believe it, he'll tell ya himself. Guy Gardner debuted this date in 1968 in Green Lantern v2 #59 as the newest Earth member of the Corps, and he's been part of the team ever since (unfortunately...)

Today is a special two-part #Capes365 post, since there are TWO legendary characters who debuted on this date. The first made her deadly appearance as an adversary to Iron Man in Tales of Suspense #52 in 1964. "Madame Natasha" was a Soviet agent better known as the Black Widow.

You're going to love today's #Capes365 character. And if you don't, he'll MAKE you love him. Ultimate Reed Richards, aka the Maker, was introduced in Ultimate Fantastic Four #1 in January 2004 as a recognizable, albeit younger, offshoot of his 616 counterpart... at first.

This has absolutely nothing to do with comics, but it damn sure has to do with mental health. Renee Nicole Good was murdered today by an as-yet unnamed fascist acting as a government agent. She posed no threat. Now the United States government is attempting to lie about it.
