PREPARE TO BE PULVERIZED, TRAUMATIZED AND HOSPITALIZED

Seriously. got bored halfway through Mezmerize and was singing along merrily with Hypnotize. I don't get why people rate the former album higher.

Someone mentioned that it had the classic B.Y.O.B. I was like, yeah, that song is alright. Oh wait, I was thinking of Boom. B.Y.O.B kinda blows, actually
System of a Down time!

Someone is going to have to explain why Mezmerize is liked more than Hypnotize

(Also finally figured out how the album packaging is meant to interlock after 20 years)

Slowly building up my Madonna discography by rooting about in charity shops.

After hearing all the people talking crap about Erotica in reviews and rankings, I’m listening to the album right now.

Too long? Sure. But it’s got SonicCD-coded eclectic dance beats! I think it’s real neat!

The promise of lesibabs in the recent Sonic racing game has me considering a purchase.

Watched The Crow (2024)

A slog as the movie faffs about with an hour and a bit spent on origin story and uninteresting "mystery investigation"

Picked up once he *finally* became The Crow and started messily murderizing henchmen. Then it ends.

Also: Weird Chicago where everyone sounds European. 🤔

After a while of using a very sensible hi-fi subwoofer for my home theatre set up, i finally got the chunky gut rumbler sub back from being serviced.

Does it jiggle? Does it stink? 😤

(Bonus points if you recognise what my sound test movie of choice is)

Sold them a month later and went back to my cheap and cheerful Koss 30 quid specials.

🤷🏻‍♀️
Bought some extravagantly expensive headphones.

We shall see how long it takes me to feel guilty for having spent money and then sell them. 😅

I swear, if the tiddlers make it through the winter, I'm upgrading the water outlet hose and buying them a fancy waterfall.

Got my eye on this one where you can put pond plants in it for extra filtration and greenery 🌱👀

All my worrying and, a few warm days later, the fish are up and about.

The forecast is for a mild week and the water has been above the food cut-off point for a couple days now.

I hope it’s not a problem to give them something to eat 😅

Got it in my head I needed to get the rest of the fancy collectors sets of John Carpenter movies.

So, now the set is complete!
Each comes with the movie in 4K, HD, making of bonus disk, poster, postcards, production booklet and soundtrack CD.

Oh! And In the Mouth of Madness is here as well.

Big Buying Plans for 2026: Big Bed, Big TV

This year most mostly catching up on financial stuff. I had planned to travel in 25 or 26, but the place I wanted to go went kinda fashy🤔

So the plan is now making home even comfier/cooler.

You seen these 100 inch TVs man? A movie would look rad on that!

Need to give it a few more spins to fully digest, but the new Soulfly album is a good laugh so far!

Said it before, but I really need to learn how to listen to albums like a music critic. Like really *listening* instead of just vibing.

Not sure why I said five when there’s ten of them in the picture.

Anyway!
Sad Fish has been up and about. Which is nice. A little pale looking, but I guess that’s what comes with slipping into a torpor 👀
Alright. A photo with all five tiddlers.

You can see Sad/Sleepy in the centre, between Chocolate Brownie and Splodge. Just a tail sticking out of some undergrowth right at the bottom. 👀

Just had the autofilled genre tag: "Skull on Cover"

It's like... Yeah. There is a skull on the cover!

Now that has me wondering if there's a tag I've not been using that just describes the artwork? 🤔

Once again, worrying about the fish.

Haha. I can only count 9 of them at the best of times. And the sleepy one has gone extra subdued. Like, buried themself in the plants and barely moving.

I'm hoping it's just hibernation instincts and they'll pop back up later.

But I'm also expecting the worse

Weh-hey. That was a fun romp!

I do like campy space opera. I do like bubbly 90s style. Do enjoy a big budget fiasco with its heart in the right place.

Shout out to marketable blobby cgi creature.
Alright, Lost in Space. Let’s see how this goes!

As I feared, The Invasion wasn’t up to much.

Like past Body Snatchers interpretations, it had ideas. This one, with its worries about social disconnect and pandemic paranoia, could have real hit in a post-covid world.

But it struggles against a 90 min runtime and the need to maximise thrill power

Nice pick up today. 👀
A couple more movies and we’ll finally see the end of this wallet murdering UHD October

I could see what it was going for. A super specific 90s horror comic style. Very Blood 2.

And I really appreciated that most everyone involved, especially Sheen and Leguizamo made a valiant attempt to chew the scenery.

Ultimately, it gave off Robocop 3 energy. And you never want to see that.
I usually have overall positive feelings about movies, even the scruffier ones.

But Spawn really tried my patience.

Pains me to say that, despite the great look and vibes, the film on the whole kinda sucks in a not enjoyable kind of way.

The CGI is awesome, though.
