While I do believe we will get out of this and democrats with come back to power either next year (excluding presidency) or 2028, the damage is going to be severe due to trump so that can help democrats show that the republicans have failed but it will be a test for the future administration. -

It’s mostly because the republicans are in control and the only way to stop or mitigate this madness is for the democrats to take the house and the senate back. And if the democrats lose the presidency again we will have to deal with this crap for 4 more years.
