So true. We are at the inflection point. Further progress feels, in a way, punitive.
I don’t mean to be a broken record but AI development could stop at the o3/Gemini 2.5 level and we would have a decade of major changes across entire professions & industries (medicine, law, education, coding…) as we figure out how to actually use it & adapt our systems.

AI disruption is baked in.

Nothing to see here, just a little transfer of wealth from middle class 401k's to the billionaire class.
Many Donald Trump supporters “claimed that this was the plan all along, suggesting that dropping the tariffs against the rest of the world would only further isolate Beijing,” but Trump himself gave away the game, @jonlemire.bsky.social and @russellberman.bsky.social write:
The Art of the Retreat
Trump’s abrupt pivot from his planned global trade war was touted by allies as grand strategy. The president’s own words suggested otherwise.

If Trump is willing to hurt the economy, he must be getting something he wants even more in return.

That thing is power. With tariffs, Trump can exercise a kind of corruption that the country hasn’t experienced in some 150 years. Read @pemalevy.bsky.social.

He, of course, initially started to say *l* am the federal law…
Donald Trump's hunger for power was clearly displayed Friday in a brief exchange with Gov. Janet Mills (D-Maine).

But of course, his "we are the federal law" is a big change from his many, many years of campaigning on "states' rights."
Trump wants federal power when it's convenient for his agenda. #trump #statesrights
