Mexican officials assure deportations remain “low,” in Nogales, citing decreasing numbers of arrivals at a government-shelter. Meanwhile, many of the local shelters have begun to empty out. But some families at Casa de la Misericordia remain hopeful that asylum will be reinstated.

Military medical personnel are undergoing prep in anticipation of being deployed to Guantanamo Bay. The orders, coordinated by the Southern Command, come as DHS is preparing to “ramp up” its operations on the naval base.
