Having a melancholy night putting my penultimate radio show together. I usually do a "leftovers" show on the last week of the year, tracks that were on my shortlist but didn't quite make it on. So that's tomorrow's show, then I have a week off, and back for a final show on Dec 1.

I've got three radio shows left. As Cabaret Voltaire were one of my favorite bands of the 80s, and they're reformed for two final tours (UK only 😭), my next show (Monday, Nov. 10) will be devoted to them and their circle of influence. So hard to pare it down to two hours!

If you can do pivot tables and vlookups you will be regarded as an Excel guru.

I was offered a job on the basis that during the interview task, I was the only one who knew what a pivot table was. I don't know who was supposed to get that job but it wasn't me, I'd never heard of a pivot table. Before I started I learnt what one was and never used one since.

My radio days are drawing to a close. I'll be moving to Greenbelt, Maryland in the next few months so my wife and daughter and I can care for my parents. That will put me too far from the WVUD studio to continue doing my weekly radio show.
