At a work mtg that went into generations, a Zoomer got VERY VERY upset when someone said “Xennial” and was like “No, that’s for Z/Millennial cusp!” and there was a LOT of googling. I don’t know that she accepts that one is Xennial and one is Zillennial. This lives rent free in my head.
generational discourse can be solved once and for all by distinguishing between "remembers no computers", "remembers no personal computers", and "remembers no cell phones". everything before that fought in wars. everything after that is, best case scenario, inventing the borg
we really do exist.

I had some thoughts on The Man on the Inside and The Thursday Night Murder Club and reflections on retirement communities in general

The people who decided season-ending ties should be decided based on a hierarchy of tiebreakers rather than in an actual ballgame do not like baseball.

Some of my best baseball memories involve Game 163, watching two teams who 6 months haven’t separated play just 9 more innings for everything.

Disgusting. Multiple times a week I see cars line up for hours for food they need. This shouldn’t be allowed to happen
The Trump administration has promised to distribute food aid before it spoils. But 500 tons of emergency food in a U.S. warehouse are about to expire and are slated for the incinerator, @hana-kiros.bsky.social reports.

Related: When people learn about some story from history that’s particularly moving and/or powerful and people say they’ve should’ve learned it in school. I don’t totally disagree but you only have so much time.
My pet peeve is "high school should have X" posts when most high schools already have X. "They should teach how the government works in high school." They did, Chris. It was 12th grade social studies. It was called "Economics and Government". You were in my class. You were always drawing.
